BarnTools is looking for an experienced Director of Sales to build, grow, and lead a sales team across the swine and poultry industry in the USA and in Canada. We need a self-starting professional who has done this before with proven success in growing and leading sales. Barntools is a Software-as-a-Service platform.

We are a remote-first company, so location is not important, though we would prefer this person to

reside in the Midwest where most of the industry conducts their business.

This is a growing start-up, standing on the shoulders of a swine industry Top 40 Powerhouse

Responsibilities:

Define and build effective sales organization.

Roles Responsibilities Structure

Build and execute sales strategy

Identify and prioritize customer personas Align sales strategy with target customers Customer feedback loop SPIN Selling tactics to complement sales strategy Consultative selling approach

Action Plan: Define sales goals at a company and individual level and monitor their success

Short term goals/strategy (first 3 months)
Long term goals/strategy (next 1-3 years) KPIs leading indicators of success lagging indicators

Product Management Framework

Product Portfolio – Establish customer feedback channels and analyze customer behavioral data to learn and recommend future features and products to the market. Competitive profile – Comparison and contrast key competitors (Tire chart) Pitch – What is the clear, concise, and comprehensive pitch for the product(s) Pricing – Understand your current pricing structure Brand culture – What are the cultural brand attributes that will set BarnTools products and people apart from the competition

Core team scope outlining roles, responsibilities, budget, KPIs for sales team. Define team needs, roles, responsibilities, and organizational structure

Account archetype targeting – Define type of accounts will be targeted initially Support – Define what sales support materials, training, and service support will need to be in place Budget – What will it cost to hire, onboard, and activate the core team?

Requirements:

Capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines. Excellent negotiation and leadership skills Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Swine industry experience strongly preferred. Experience in SaaS industry A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of sales techniques and best practices. Formal sales training Continuous sales training Familiar with tactics like SPIN Selling

Responsibilities:

  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
