This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes the practices of BarnTools, LLC (“BarnTools”) for collecting, using, maintaining, disclosing, and otherwise processing (collectively, “Processing”) the information of all users (the “Users”) of our BarnTools website, website application, application programming interface, or other services available digitally associated with the BarnTools application (collectively, the “BarnTools”). This Policy applies to all Users of BarnTools, whether engaging with BarnTools individually, through a company, or through your employer.

The processing described in this Policy is subject to applicable laws in the places in which we operate. This means that we only engage in certain Processing activities if permitted under the laws of those places. By using or submitting information to Barn Tools, you are acknowledging and agreeing to this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, your choice is to not use or submit information to BarnTools. This Policy may change from time to time (see “Changes to Our Privacy Policy” below). 1. What information does BarnTools collect?

We may collect several types of information from and about you both directly (when you provide it to us) and automatically (when you use BarnTools). This may include personal information, which refers to any information that can be used to identify you. Depending on your use of BarnTools, the information we collect may include:

  • Records and copies of your correspondence when you contact us or when you communicate with other Users of Barn Tools.
  • Details of transactions you carry out through BarnTools, including payment or banking information.
  • Information collected automatically as you navigate through BarnTools, such as usage details, IP Addresses, and information collected through cookies, flash cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.
  • Information you provide about your farm operation, such as the names of your employees, the size of your farm, the livestock at your farm and their health and purchase, information about feed usage, and other information you provide to use BarnTools.
  • Information collected automatically through BarnTools, including but not limited to barn temperature, fan speed, or propane usage.
  • Information about you provided from third party Users of BarnTools.
  • Information about your location at a given point in time, collected, for example, when you interact with BarnTools through features like check-in or through the use of geofencing technology.

2. How does BarnTools use the information?

The data controller for the information is BarnTools, LLC and we store and process personal information in the United States. We process this information as necessary to perform our contractual obligations to the Users and provide them access to BarnTools software services. We may process this information given our legitimate interest in improving and protecting BarnTools, enhancing User experience, and identifying and offering products to specific Users. We may process this information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations.

In particular, we may use the information that we collect to:

  • Operate, deliver, and improve the BarnTools.
  • Set up and maintain your user account.
  • Provide you with information, services, and notifications that you request.
  • Allow you to interact with BarnTools.
  • Customize your experience using BarnTools.
  • Provide customer service to Users of BarnTools.
  • Communicate with you about your transactions, updates, security alerts, account notifications, and other administrative issues in compliance with your communications preferences.
  • Measure or understand the effectiveness of content and services offered through BarnTools.
  • Fulfill our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.
  • Resolve disputes, address complaints, and troubleshoot technical problems related to BarnTools.

  • Analyze User behavior and prepare aggregated reports to improve BarnTools, identify industry trends, and track potential foreign animal diseases.
  • Understand User needs and provide Users with recommendations, better service, and customized marketing offers.
  • Communicate information and offers for products and services, including offers based on your interests and use of the Barn Tools, administer promotional events, and provide other information that may be of interest to you. We will provide you the opportunity to opt-out of marketing information or market research inquiries, but we will still need to gather certain information to provide BarnTools.
  • Share and/or sell aggregated and de-identified information (information that does not identify any individual) with third parties.
  • Share and/or sell non-aggregated Customer data to Customer integrator(s).
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

3. Does BarnTools, LLC share or disclose the information?

To provide Users with BarnTools, we may share information with third parties who provide services to us, including but not limited to our cloud storage provider, Microsoft Azure. Except as otherwise provided herein or in the Terms of Use, any third party with whom we share information will only have the access necessary to perform specific tasks on our behalf, will use your information only for the purposes for which it was disclosed, and will protect your information to at least the same extent that we do.

Certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, may have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. Once you leave our website or BarnTools or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Use and may instead be governed by a third party’s privacy policy and terms of use. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. You should read any third-party service provider’s privacy policy and terms of use so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by those providers. We may share personal information for our legitimate interest in delivering, maintaining, protecting, and improving BarnTools, such as when we negotiate or enter in a business transaction involving sale or transfer of all or a part of our business or assets, or to protect the rights and property of BarnTools, our customers, and others. This includes enforcing our agreements, policies, and terms of use.

We may share personal information where you have provided consent, as described at the time of consent.

We may share aggregated and de-identified data (information that does not identify any individual) with others without restriction. We may share non-aggregated Customer Data with Customer integrator(s).

4. What are my choices about how my information is processed?

Accessing and updating your personal information

We comply with applicable law regarding your ability to access, correct, and delete your personal information. You can view or edit your personal information by accessing your Account Settings on your profile. Tracking technologies and advertising

5. Does BarnTools collect children’s information?

In accordance with our Terms of Use, you must be sixteen (16) years or older to register as a user and otherwise use our website or BarnTools. The BarnTools products are not intended for children under 16 years of age and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not register on the BarnTools products or use or provide any information on our site or on or through any of its features, or use any of the interactive or public comment features of the site, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or username you may use. 7. How long will BarnTools keep the information?

We keep different kinds of information for different lengths of time depending on the purposes for which the information was collected.
