How it fits into the BarnTalk alarm platform:

Connects wirelessly to the BarnTalk Gateway. For best results, we recommend one sensor per bin. BinTalk Wireless Feed Bin Sensor should be placed within ~700 feet of the BarnTalk Gateway. On multi-barn sites, the sensor’s range can often extend wirelessly across multiple buildings depending on proximity.

  • Readings taken as often as every hour
  • Utilizes HD Mapping Technology with greater than 95% accuracy
  • No Drilling or Holes in Your Bin. Easy DIY Install in 10 minutes
  • Tested for Maximum Durability in Harsh Conditions
  • Bin diameter should be less than 12 ft. and height less than 25 feet

For gateways with any number of BinTalk sensors on them, there is an additional cost of either $10 per month or $120 per year for each gateway that has BinTalk sensors.

Limit of 8 BinTalk sensors per Gateway.

BinTalk FAQs

You can connect up to 8 feed sensors per gateway. Every BarnTalk Gateway can handle up to 24 sensors in total. In other words, if you connected 8 BinTalk sensors to a Gateway, you could connect 16 more temp sensors, humidity sensors, wireless dry contact sensors, or water meters to the same Gateway.

Installing BinTalk is simple and can be done in 10-15 minutes. Attach the sensor straight up and down near the lid‘s hinges and use the two self-tapping screws to secure it tightly.

Compared to the bin scales, BinTalk is >96% accurate. The readings become even more accurate as the feed level gets lower.

BinTalk works with all feed types. The sensor assumes the bin has a 40 pounds/cubic foot density, but the user will be able to adjust this.

The sensor can work for 2-3 weeks with no sunlight.

-13°F to 122°F

Users will be able to view the volume of feed inside their bin as a percentage full. We are working to build warnings and alarms around low feed and fill events.

For just $15/month, BarnTalk TotalCare provides complete coverage for any and all damage to your BinTalk sensors. Lightning, water, fire, and physical damage—no questions asked. Click here to learn more.
